Al-Ahli enters the race... Moroccan star ignites transfer battle in Jeddah
Saudi Al-Ahli has entered the negotiations strongly to sign one of the Moroccan national team stars, in preparation for contracting with him during the current summer transfer window.
The player had been linked in recent days with a move to Al-Ittihad, after his remarkable performance with Morocco in the 2026 World Cup.
According to what journalist Muhammad Al-Bakiri revealed, 'Al-Raqi' has become a direct competitor to secure the services of Azzedine Ounahi, the midfielder of Morocco and Spanish Girona, during the current summer transfer window.
Ounahi contributed to the 'Atlas Lions' reaching the quarter-finals, before being eliminated by France with a score of (0-2). The Moroccan midfielder also succeeded in scoring two goals during the big win over Canada with a score of (3-0) in the round of 16, confirming his technical value in the biggest arenas.

Al-Ittihad was not the only club that showed interest in Ounahi, as the player's name has also been linked with several European clubs, led by Dutch Ajax Amsterdam. However, Al-Ahli's entry into the negotiations gives the deal new dimensions, especially given the club's desire to strengthen the midfield with a player possessing quality and international experience.
It seems that Al-Ahli sees Ounahi as the ideal option to compensate for the departure of Ivorian Franck Kessié, who refused to renew his contract.
