Since 2023, he has been working with the technical staff of the Tanzania senior national team, serving as assistant coach and goalkeeper coach, and has participated in several continental tournaments, most notably the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2024 African Nations Championship, in addition to his involvement with the senior national team and the youth national team in African tournaments during 2025. Al Hamdan also had professional stints with Egyptian club Ismaily SC, as well as work with French clubs, giving him diverse technical experience that has reflected on his coaching style and development of goalkeepers.
