Al-Nassr management has contracted Brazilian Marcos Soares to lead the U21 football team in the 'Joy' Elite League, according to a special source from 'Al-Riyadiya'. The same source indicated that the Brazilian coach chose his compatriot Fernando Junior as goalkeeping coach, Portuguese Miguel Arias as first assistant, in addition to Badr Aba Al-Hussein as second assistant.

Soares' journey in Saudi Arabia began when he took over coaching Al-Hilal U17 in July 2021, before moving to the Saudi U19 national team in 2023. Soares led the Green to win the 'West Asia Youth Championship' U19, after defeating its Emirati counterpart 1-0.

In January 2024, he took on the task of coaching Saudi U20, and led the young Green to qualify for the U20 World Cup in Chile 2025, after a 1-0 victory over China in the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup.

Soares' career started from Brazilian club Brasiliense in the 2014 season, and he led teams most notably Corinthians and Botafogo U20.

The Brazilian coach obtained professional coaching licenses from his country's federation as well as from the South American federation, in addition to obtaining a master's degree in high sports performance and a course in management from the International Football Federation 'FIFA'.

The Al-Nassr U21 team participated in the 'Joy' Elite League last season, finishing third in the standings, but exited the tournament in the quarter-finals after losing to Al-Fateh home and away 3-7.
