Uruguayan Darwin Nunez, striker for Al Hilal's first football team, has entered the interest of American club Atlanta United for a potential signing during the ongoing summer transfer window, according to The Athletic website in the United States on Thursday. The site reported that the American club has initiated preliminary talks to bring Nunez from Al Hilal, but they have not yet reached an advanced stage. Atlanta is drawing up a shortlist of attacking players to sign one of them this summer, led by Darwin Nunez and Swiss Breel Embolo of French club Stade Rennais. The Uruguayan played 16 matches for the Blue in the Saudi Roshn League, scoring six goals and providing four assists before being excluded from the local squad and only being used in the AFC Champions League Elite. It is worth noting that Nunez joined Al Hilal from English club Liverpool during the previous summer transfer window.
