Al-Ittihad club's management entered negotiations to sign Moroccan international star Azzedine Ounahi during the current summer transfer window. The Al-Ittihad administration made an attractive offer of 10 million euros to its counterpart at Italian Girona, which contributed to changing the player's destination from Dutch Ajax to Al-Ittihad.
Meanwhile, Belgian club Club Brugge rejected Al-Ittihad's offer to sign Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika, which was 5 million euros, demanding to double the amount to 10 million, which delayed the official conclusion of the deal. Negotiations are still ongoing to reduce the amount.
Meanwhile, player Awad Al-Nashri officially transferred to Al-Shabab after spending 9 seasons at Al-Ittihad, during which he progressed through the age groups until reaching the first team. On the other hand, many Al-Ittihad fans expressed dissatisfaction with the signings of local and foreign players, asserting that the team needs to strengthen its ranks with high-level players and larger financial value like other clubs. Al-Ittihad continues its training at its current camp in Spain in preparation for facing UAE's Al-Jazira at 8:00 PM Saudi time on August 11 at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi in the qualifying playoff for the elite AFC Champions League. Coach Jens Fiesing is seeking to prepare the team optimally, given the limited time and the lack of new signings to strengthen the team.
