Al-Nassr Crisis Keeps Durán
Al-Nassr club management is moving towards keeping Colombian Jhon Durán in the first football team squad for the upcoming season, amid the ongoing financial crisis that hinders making new deals, according to sources close to Al-Riyadiya. The same sources stated that the club's management decided to reintegrate Durán into the team's ongoing training in Riyadh, after opportunities to sign a new foreign player as a replacement for Croatian Marcelo Brozović diminished due to the lack of any prospects of obtaining approval from the Financial Control Committee to complete a new deal. The sources explained that the regulations do not allow registering Durán under the locally-born players category, since he was not registered in this category when he joined Al-Nassr at the beginning of 2025, meaning he can only be registered in the foreign players list. The sources indicated that these financial developments at Al-Nassr strengthen the trend towards being satisfied with registering Jhon Durán for the upcoming season, in light of the lack of necessary liquidity to make new deals during the current summer transfer window. In another context, the Al-Nassr team delegation returned to Riyadh to continue preparations for the new season, and will leave next week to Portugal for an external camp.
