The management of Al-Ula club reached an agreement with its counterpart at Al-Taawoun to sign goalkeeper Abdul Quddus Atiah, according to a private source to Al-Riyadiah. Atiah is expected to take over the goalkeeping duties for Al-Ula in its bid to promote to the Saudi Roshan League next season. This swift move by Al-Ula's management aimed to strengthen the goalkeeping position and compensate for the departure of the starting goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais, who joined Al-Hilal in the current summer transfers. Atiah began his professional career with Al-Feiha at the start of 2018, then moved to Al-Wehda in the same summer, playing for them for six seasons, during which he was loaned to Al-Adalah in the 2020-2021 season, then moved to Al-Taawoun on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

This contract comes as part of Al-Ula's preparations for the new season after its promotion to the First Division, in an effort to strengthen its ranks with the skills of the former international goalkeeper.

Abdul Quddus Atiah is considered one of the experienced goalkeepers in the Saudi League, possessing vast experience from representing several clubs. This deal comes at a time when the Saudi League is witnessing active transfer movements, especially in the goalkeeping position. Atiah is expected to contribute to defensive stability for Al-Ula, enhancing its chances in the competition for promotion. Al-Ula still needs to strengthen other lines to ensure achieving its goals next season.
