Egyptian Al Ahly to face Barcelona in friendly at Camp Nou

Egyptian football club Al Ahly officially announced that the first team will face Barcelona in a friendly on August 19 at Camp Nou, as part of the Joan Gamper Trophy competition.

The Egyptian Al Ahly said on its official website on Friday that a delegation including Ahmed Hossam Awad, a member of the board of directors of the club and the company, and Neira Ali, the executive director of the company, paid a short visit to Spain.

He added that during the visit, it was agreed with the historic FC Barcelona to hold a football match between the two clubs on August 19, as part of the 61st edition of 'La Festa del Gamper Estrella Damm' (Joan Gamper Trophy celebration sponsored by Estrella Damm).

He explained: 'The delegation discussed with Barcelona officials all arrangements for the match, in a friendly atmosphere reflecting the good relationship between the two clubs.'

This step comes as part of Al Ahly Football Company's efforts to enhance the club's global presence and open new horizons for cooperation with the largest clubs and sports institutions in Europe.
