Wednesday: Barcelona to Officially Present Adeyemi
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed that the signing of German international striker Karim Adeyemi will be officially announced on Wednesday. Barcelona had reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to buy the player's contract for €22 million plus €10 million in add-ons, and Adeyemi arrived in Barcelona last Thursday and completed his medical on Friday, but the club delayed the official announcement until Laporta returned from a trip to the United States where he attended the World Cup final. The Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that Laporta told journalists upon arriving in Barcelona on Tuesday that Adeyemi will be officially presented on Wednesday. Laporta also declined to comment on other players linked to Barcelona during the summer transfer window, including Argentine Julian Alvarez, striker for Atletico Madrid, as well as the club's stance on its player Ferran Torres, who is wanted by several clubs, especially after his standout performance in the World Cup where he scored the only winning goal for Spain against Argentina in the final. Barcelona had announced shortly before the start of the World Cup the signing of English international winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for €70 million plus €10 million in variables.
