Al-Masoudi Joins Asian Chess Executive
Mohammed Al-Masoudi, President of the Saudi Chess Federation, has been granted membership in the Executive Office of the Asian Chess Federation in a new continental role, alongside his appointment as head of the Electronic Chess Committee. According to the Saudi Chess Federation's account on platform X on Thursday, the appointment confirms the trust Al-Masoudi enjoys at the Asian level to support the game, in addition to his role in strengthening institutional work and developing the electronic chess system across the continent. Al-Masoudi's joining the Asian Federation's Executive Office is a new addition to the presence of Saudi competencies in leadership positions within continental and international sports federations, reflecting the growing status of the Saudi Chess Federation in international forums. On the other hand, Egypt is hosting the Arab Youth and Junior Chess Championship from July 28 to August 5, with the participation of 18 countries. About 400 male and female players, among the top stars of the game in Arab countries, are taking part in the tournament.
