The Saudi national volleyball team secured an important victory over hosts Oman on Thursday in their second match of the second West Asian Championship currently underway in Muscat. According to the Saudi Volleyball Federation's account on platform 'X', the Green team defeated their Omani counterpart 3-2 in sets (16-25, 25-22, 25-27, 25-21, 15-12). The Green team had lost their first match against Iraq 1-3. They will face Lebanon on Friday in the final round to snatch the qualification card to the next stage. The tournament is played in a single round-robin format within each group, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals to compete for the title. The draw placed the Green team in Group B alongside hosts Oman, Lebanon, and Iraq, while Group A consists of Qatar, Kuwait, and Syria. Spanish coach Fernando Munoz's squad includes 14 players for the tournament: Fawaz Al-Yami, Walid Al-Otaibi, Abdullah Al-Khalfan, Ahmed Al-Murayt, Muwaffaq Al-Mutairi, Badr Al-Awami, Rashad Abu Al-Khair, Hussein Al-Murayt, Marwan Hawsawi, Hassan Al-Waqlan, Qusay Al-Abdul Baqi, Ali Al-Kaabi, Mohammed Adel, and Hamoud Al-Ghamdi.
