Aramco Stadium completes installation of stands
Aramco Stadium in Khobar has neared its final appearance after completing the installation of stands and screens in the past few days, according to a source close to Al-Riyadiya. The same source stated that the new stadium awaits final touches, with its opening date to be set later this year. Aramco Stadium in Khobar is the main venue for Al-Qadsiah's first football team, and one of the most prominent new sports projects in Saudi Arabia, built on an area of approximately 800,000 square meters, with a capacity of about 47,000 spectators, among facilities prepared to host major tournaments, including the 2027 Asian Cup and the 2034 World Cup. The stadium features a design inspired by the fluidity of a water vortex, with external curves giving it a distinctive visual presence from all angles, and its design has received the 'Mostadam' Diamond certificate, the highest rating in the Saudi sustainable building program. The project includes advanced systems for pitch care, including humidity treatment and ventilation of grass layers, along with a smart irrigation management system based on climatic changes and pitch condition, while the pitch consists of 95% natural grass and 5% hybrid grass, supported by lamps to aid grass growth in shaded areas. The stadium parking accommodates more than 9,000 vehicles, with visitors connected to the facility via a main path 550 meters long and three bridges, before entering through 15 gates. The stadium also includes 33 points of sale, more than 2,000 hospitality seats, three exclusive lounges, and 30 private suites.
