Arsenal has signed Greek winger Christos Tzolis from Belgian club Club Brugge on a "long-term" contract, according to an announcement by the English Premier League champions on Thursday.

The transfer fee was not disclosed, but British media reports indicated that the 24-year-old player joined the Gunners for £34 million ($45 million), effectively replacing Belgian Leandro Trossard after his move to Turkish side Besiktas.

Tzolis is the third permanent signing by Arsenal in the current transfer window, coming 48 hours after failing to secure Morgan Rogers, who moved to London rivals Chelsea for £117 million ($157 million) according to reports, a record fee for a British player. Former Aston Villa player Rogers described Chelsea as "the biggest club in London." Tzolis scored 43 goals in 108 matches for Club Brugge, having played in their 0-3 loss to Arsenal in the Champions League last season. The player also has previous experience in the English league, having played for Norwich City when they were in the Premier League, joining from Greek club PAOK where he began his career and helped them win the Greek Cup in May 2021. Tzolis then had two loan spells in the Netherlands and Germany with Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf respectively, before joining Brugge in 2024 and winning the Belgian league title last season. Arsenal's Italian sporting director Andrea Berta welcomed the Greek international, who has played 34 times for his country. Berta told the club's website: "Christos is a highly versatile attacking player. He is a clinical finisher with both feet, excels in tight spaces, and possesses amazing technical abilities." He added: "Christos has achieved impressive numbers in terms of goals and assists over the past three seasons. We are confident that Christos will make a great addition to our club, and we hope our fans enjoy watching him in the Arsenal shirt."
