Yasser Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Saudi Public Investment Fund and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aramco, presented the Best Young Player award for the 2026 World Cup to Spanish player Pau Cubarsi after the final match held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA.

The young Spanish defender Pau Cubarsi won the award after his outstanding performances throughout the tournament, securing one of the most prominent individual awards offered by Aramco as an official partner of FIFA and its various competitions.

Al-Rumayyan's presence on the podium as Chairman of the Board of Aramco reflects the growing Saudi presence in major global sporting events, whether through commercial partnerships or investment in the sports sector, which has seen rapid growth in recent years.

Al-Rumayyan is considered one of the most influential figures in the international sports scene, as in addition to his position as Governor of the Public Investment Fund, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of English club Newcastle United since the fund's acquisition of the club in 2021. This period saw a major transformation in the club's journey, culminating in winning the English League Cup last season and returning to participate in the UEFA Champions League.

Aramco's participation in awarding the World Cup prizes is part of its global partnership with FIFA as the official energy partner.
