Sources told Asharq Al-Awsat that Al-Diriyah club has reached an agreement with defender Qasim Lajami to join its ranks on a free transfer during the current summer transfer window.

Lajami, 30, is a free agent after his contractual ties with Al-Qadsiah ended at the end of last season.

Lajami finished last season on loan from Al-Qadsiah to Al-Taawoun, where he played 14 matches with 'Al-Sukri' during the second half of the season.

Al-Diriyah is preparing for its first-ever participation in the Professional League after achieving a historic feat by qualifying for the competition following a 2-1 victory over Al-Ula in the final of the promotion playoff.
