Media reports have revealed that Paris Saint-Germain, the French league champions, have withdrawn from the competition to sign Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, the Lille star, a decision made at the request of Spanish coach Luis Enrique.

French newspaper L'Équipe reported on Tuesday that Luis Enrique requested not to proceed with the deal to sign Bouaddi, aged 18.

According to the newspaper, the Spanish coach believes that the Moroccan player's arrival could affect the opportunities that young players would get within Paris Saint-Germain, noting that "Enrique is keen to ensure a clear path for the current young players at the club."

English club Manchester City tops the list of clubs interested in securing the services of the young midfielder, who is under contract with Lille until 2029.
