Eastern Province Municipality Raises Readiness of Region's Cities to Host 2027 Asian Cup
The Eastern Province Municipality stated that it has raised the readiness of the region's cities and governorates to host the 2027 Asian Cup, by implementing an integrated plan to improve the urban landscape in targeted axes.
The Municipality indicated that the plan focuses on enhancing field monitoring, accelerating the treatment of visual distortions, and raising the level of compliance, within a proactive work system based on continuous follow-up and performance indicator measurement.
Meeting to Follow Up on Plan Implementation
The Municipality added that this came during a meeting of the Urban Landscape Development and Improvement Program today, chaired by the Secretary of the Eastern Province, Engineer Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubeir, and attended by the Municipality's deputies, mayors, and directors of relevant departments, where updates on the urban landscape improvement plan for the 2027 Asian Cup axes were reviewed, and performance indicators and executive programs were followed up to raise the level of field readiness.
Mechanisms and Methodology of Implementation
In the same context, the Municipality explained that the methodology for implementing the plan includes identifying main axes and gathering points according to the approved data in the hosting file, carrying out field monitoring work via the 'Baladi Lens' application, and processing observations through the 'Mumtathil' platform, in addition to monitoring street conditions through the 'Airby' and 'View City' platforms and performance indicator dashboards, ensuring speed of processing and raising monitoring efficiency.
Results of Monitoring and Supervision
It is worth noting that the monitoring coverage rate for priority areas reached 89% to date, while the monitoring work via the 'Baladi Lens' application resulted in recording 734 observations in priority areas, and 50 observations referred through the 'CRM' system, with a processing completion rate of 75%, in addition to monitoring observations of visual distortions in cities.
For his part, the meeting discussed the work of the proactive plan for addressing visual distortions, monitoring the work of cleaning contractors, in addition to enhancing oversight of buildings under construction and excavation projects, and ensuring contractors' compliance with municipal requirements regarding work site organization.
