2026 World Cup: Tom Cruise, Madonna, Shakira, and Justin Bieber in Rare Performance at Closing Ceremony
The announced artistic show lives up to an exceptional World Cup: from Tom Cruise to Madonna, through Justin Bieber, Shakira, and BTS, the MetLife Stadium near New York will turn Sunday into 'the biggest stage in the world' during the final match between Spain and Argentina.
After five weeks of competition and 104 matches held in three countries (Mexico, the United States, and Canada), and for the first time gathering 48 teams, the FIFA World Cup will finally reveal its champion.

But before knowing whether 'Albiceleste' led by Lionel Messi or 'La Roja' led by Lamine Yamal will be crowned champion, 80,000 spectators in the stadium and billions of viewers around the world will watch a parade of stars during the closing ceremony, and then during the musical show between the halves of the final, which will be attended by US President Donald Trump.
In the first part of the celebrations, which will start at 1:30 PM local time (6:30 PM GMT), the appearance of Tom Cruise is expected. After his rope descent at the Stade de France during the Olympic flag handover ceremony between Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028, what the Hollywood star will offer the audience this time remains under wraps.
Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini, and Nicole Scherzinger, performers of the official tournament anthem 'Desire,' will also be present. The American content creator 'Ishowspeed,' who has 160 million followers, has also been invited, along with rapper Post Malone, while Oscar-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson will perform the US national anthem.
However, the second part, an 11-minute musical show between the two halves, is generating the most anticipation. FIFA President Gianni Infantino has promised it will be 'the greatest stage in history.'
During this show, inspired by Super Bowl performances and directed by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, featuring an international and multi-generational artistic constellation, American star Madonna, who has just released a new album at age 67, will share the stage with Canadian Justin Bieber, South Korean K-pop group BTS, and Shakira, who has extensive experience in World Cup tournaments.
The song 'Day Day' by the Colombian singer with Afrobeats star Burna Boy, which accompanied the tournament atmosphere throughout the competition, will also be played again.
Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel and a New York choir will also participate, accompanied by Coldplay, in this show aimed at raising donations for an educational program run by FIFA and the non-governmental organization Global Citizen, which Chris Martin co-founded.
The question remains: will this show exceed the official 15-minute break in football matches? The announced 11 minutes may actually be longer, given the time needed to set up and remove the sets.
During the Club World Cup final held at the same stadium last year, the break lasted just over 24 minutes to allow for a similar show.
