The halftime show at the 2026 World Cup final, which will be played between Spain and Argentina on Sunday at MetLife Stadium, is one of the most anticipated events.

This will be the first time in World Cup final history that a musical performance takes place during the halftime break.

The International Football Federation (FIFA) announced that this historic show will last exactly 17 minutes, just two minutes longer than the usual halftime duration for football matches.

During these few minutes, world-renowned artists including Shakira, Madonna, BTS, Berna Boy, Justin Bieber, Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, the PS2 Choir, and Coldplay will take part in the event.

Charitable goals

Despite the logistical magnitude of the event, the artists participating in the show will not receive any fee or financial compensation. Their involvement is entirely for charitable purposes in support of the FIFA and Global Citizen Education Fund, as this initiative has set an ambitious goal of raising approximately $100 million during the World Cup competitions.

As part of this initiative, one dollar from each ticket sold for the final match between Spain and Argentina will be allocated to continue supporting quality education programs for children and to leverage the massive crowd attendance of football to bring about change in the lives of thousands of children living in difficult conditions around the world.

Gianni Infantino

Gianni Infantino, President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), said last May: When you see Shakira, Madonna, and BTS on the biggest stage in the world on the day of the final match, and this viewing is coupled with the goal of raising funds to improve children's education, the event gains real value and emotions intensify.
