(CNN)-- Spain won the 2026 FIFA World Cup, held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. "La Roja" defeated Argentina 1-0 in the final at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. Spain dominated throughout the 90 minutes, controlling possession and creating several chances, but failed to find the net while Argentina stayed back, ending regular time goalless. Spain needed until the 106th minute to score, with Ferran Torres slotting home from inside the box. Spain won the World Cup for the second time in its history, after the 2010 edition in South Africa.
