(CNN)-- Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris commented on Argentina's 2-1 victory over England at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday, in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

The match saw the 'Three Lions' leading by a goal until the 86th minute, before Enzo Fernández scored the equalizer and then Lautaro Martínez scored the second goal.

Sawiris wrote on his X account on Thursday night: 'Honestly, they were the better team,' indicating that Lionel Messi's teammates deserved the victory in the end due to their technical level on the pitch.

Argentina advanced to the final to face Spain on July 19, while England will play France in the third-place match.
