Brazil national team medical team reveals Neymar's ankle sprain injury
Doha, November 24 /QNA/ The medical team of the Brazilian national team confirmed that star Neymar da Silva suffered an injury in today's match against Serbia in Group G of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar, the Brazilian team doctor, said in the post-match press conference that Neymar suffered a sprain in his right ankle along with swelling.
The doctor stated in the press conference that the player will undergo a physiotherapy session and an MRI scan, and that we must wait.
He added that Neymar felt this pain throughout the match, but he decided to stay to help the other players and endured the pain for 11 minutes on the field.
The Brazilian national team achieved a 2-0 victory over its Serbian counterpart in the match held tonight at Lusail Stadium, concluding the first round of group stage matches in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Brazil owes its victory to its player Richarlison, the striker for English side Tottenham Hotspur, who scored both goals in the 62nd and 73rd minutes.
