Al-Ahli continued to strengthen its ranks during the summer transfer window, after announcing on Wednesday its official signing of defensive midfielder Naif Masoud from Al-Fateh, in preparation for the new season with a four-year contract.

Al-Ahli posted a video on its official social media accounts to announce the deal, accompanied by the phrase: 'The road is closed... sorry for the inconvenience... Naif is a Ahli,' in reference to strengthening the team's defensive midfield.

The signing of Naif Masoud comes as part of Al-Ahli's management plan to support the team with players possessing experience in the Saudi Roshn League, as the player previously represented Al-Qadsiah, Al-Khaleej, and Al-Fateh before moving to 'Al-Raqi'. The player, with a market value of €350,000 according to 'Transfermarkt', played 27 matches for Al-Fateh last season, scoring one goal and providing no assists, while receiving three yellow cards and playing 1,649 minutes. Al-Ahli hopes Naif Masoud will be a strong addition to the midfield, as the team seeks to compete for all titles next season.
