Midfielder Naif Masoud officially joined Al-Ahli's first football team on Wednesday, coming from Al-Fateh. The player signed a four-season contract with Al-Ahli in Lisbon, Portugal, represented in signing by Portuguese sporting director Rui Pedro. Masoud told the club website: 'An important step in my career, I am well aware of the value of this club and its great history, and I understand the responsibility towards its fans. I will give everything I have on the pitch, and I hope to live up to expectations and achieve successes together.' Al-Ahli considered the signing as a step aimed at enhancing the team's technical options in preparation for upcoming competitions. The club noted that the 25-year-old has delivered distinguished performances with Al-Fateh, describing him as one of the most prominent local midfielders. Masoud has represented the Saudi national team in five matches and played 39 matches for Al-Fateh, which signed him from Al-Qadsiah during the summer of 2024. Al-Qadsiah promoted the player to the first team in 2020 and loaned him to Al-Khaleej for six months in the middle of the 2023-2024 season. On July 24, the 'Al-Riyadiya Aajil' account on the 'X' platform revealed that the Al-Fateh midfielder signed a four-year contract with Al-Ahli after the western club bought out the remainder of his contract with 'Al-Namouthaji' for 15 million riyals, to be paid in three installments over one and a half seasons.
