Dr. Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), confirmed that the Egyptian Football Association's proposal to increase the number of teams participating in the African Champions League to three teams for countries with the highest ranking is currently being studied.

Motsepe said in a press conference held today, Wednesday: 'The request is being discussed and studied at the highest levels of CAF, and a decision that serves the interests of African football will be made.'

He added: 'African national teams delivered outstanding performances in the recent World Cup held in the United States and Mexico. Egypt performed excellently, as did Morocco and all the teams.'

He explained: 'I am proud of the performance of African teams in the World Cup, and I believe that the time is near for an African team to win the world title.'

He emphasized that the Egyptian national team was leading Argentina by two goals until the last 15 minutes, and Morocco had a great tournament. Therefore, there is significant progress in African football performance.
