Contracts Signed.. Francisco Trincão Is Al-Ahli Saudi's Fourth Summer Signing
Portuguese Francisco Trincão, a Sporting Lisbon player, has become Al-Ahli Saudi's fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
Media reports had revealed that Al-Ahli was close to signing Trincão during the upcoming summer transfer window, after agreeing on the details of the deal with his Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon.
Saudi newspaper 'Arriyadiyah' reported that Trincão has actually signed his transfer contracts with Al-Ahli early Saturday morning, for a period of 4 years, ending in 2030, in the presence of the club's sporting director Rui Pedro.
According to previous media reports, the Portuguese player will join Al-Ahli for €45 million, plus €5 million in variables, and will receive an annual salary of €10 million.
Al-Ahli succeeded in securing the deal after a series of negotiations, having competed with several European clubs that wanted to acquire the player.
The 26-year-old will be the fourth signing made by Al-Ahli during the summer transfer window, after Gambian defender Abubakr Sidy Kinteh from Norwegian Tromsø, Saudi winger Mishal Al-Mutairi from Abha, and Armenian Eduard Spertsyan from Russian Krasnodar.
This comes as Al-Ahli is close to finalizing another deal, namely midfielder Naif Masoud, who will join from Al-Fateh.
Through these reinforcements, Al-Ahli seeks to regain the Saudi League title, which has been absent from its trophy cabinet for 10 years, in addition to retaining the AFC Champions League Elite title for the third consecutive season.
