An Al-Ittihad player is close to moving to the Italian league during the current summer transfer window, according to press reports.

Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiah reported that Genoa has entered negotiations with Al-Ittihad to sign Albanian full-back Mario Mitaj in the current summer transfer window.

The newspaper explained that the Italian club wants to secure Mitaj's services on a one-season loan with an option to buy.

Both clubs are working to reach a final agreement during this period to officially finalize the deal in the current summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2024 from Lokomotiv Moscow, and successfully established himself in the starting lineup under coaches Laurent Blanc and Sergio Conceição.

Since arriving at Al-Inmaa Stadium, the 23-year-old has played 58 matches, scoring two goals and providing six assists, and contributed to the team's double of the Roshn Saudi League and King's Cup two seasons ago.
