Dutch club Ajax has neared signing Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo, a player of Saudi club Al-Hilal, during the current summer transfer window, after the two parties reached a near-final agreement.

According to Brazilian newspaper 'Globo', Ajax will pay around 25 million euros to Al-Hilal for the services of the 23-year-old striker, while the player will sign a contract extending for five seasons with the Dutch club.

Marcos Leonardo spent two seasons wearing Al-Hilal's shirt, during which he participated in 82 matches in various competitions and succeeded in scoring 48 goals, becoming one of the most prominent strikers in the squad during the past period.

The Brazilian striker attracted attention during his participation with Al-Hilal in the 2025 Club World Cup, after contributing to the team's distinguished journey, which saw the elimination of Manchester City in the round of 16, before exiting against Fluminense in the quarter-finals.
