A former target of Egypt's Al Ahly has moved closer to joining the Saudi Roshen League during the upcoming summer transfer window, to replace Syrian Omar Al-Somah, the competition's all-time top scorer.

Koora has learned that Congolese Afimico Pululu, striker for Polish club Jagiellonia Białystok, is close to moving to Saudi club Al-Hazem in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Congolese striker is currently undergoing the necessary medical tests before joining the team's ongoing camp in Tunisia, after which the deal will be officially announced.

Pululu will be the replacement for Syrian striker Omar Al-Somah, who left Al-Hazem after his contract expired at the end of last season, having scored 9 goals and provided 1 assist in 26 matches.

Al-Hazem will sign Pululu on a free transfer after his contract with his former Polish club ended, where he scored 21 goals and provided 8 assists in 47 matches across all competitions last season.

The 27-year-old's most notable performance came in the season before last, 2024-2025, when he won the top scorer award in the UEFA Europa Conference League with 8 goals.

Pululu's performances prompted Egypt's Al Ahly to negotiate with him for a move during the past winter transfer window, as revealed by several media reports, but the deal ultimately did not materialize.

Pululu is 27 years old and began his professional career with Swiss club Basel, where he was promoted to the first team in 2019, before moving to German side Greuther Fürth in 2022, and then to the Polish champions the following year.

Over three years, Pululu played 134 matches for Jagiellonia Białystok, scoring 56 goals and providing 17 assists, while also being capable of playing as a winger.
