Al-Ahly Club announced the signing of Portuguese winger Francisco Trincão from Sporting Lisbon, to bolster the team's attack during the current summer transfer window.
Al-Ahly's official account on X published a video announcing the player's introduction and signing a contract with the club, which was crowned last season with the AFC Champions League Elite title for the second consecutive season.
Trincão will wear the number 7 jersey, which was previously worn by Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, who had announced his departure from the team this summer after a distinguished career.
The 26-year-old Trincão played 208 matches for Sporting Lisbon, scoring 47 goals and providing 51 assists in 15,700 minutes.
He previously played for Spanish club Barcelona, where he appeared in 42 matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists, and also represented Portuguese side Sporting Braga in 48 first-team matches, scoring 9 goals and providing 12 assists.
