Turkish club Fenerbahce announced on Tuesday that it has officially signed English football player Mason Greenwood for 4 years until 2030, coming from French club Olympique Marseille in a record deal worth 39 million euros.

Fenerbahce said on its website: 'Our club has reached an agreement with the club and player Mason Greenwood regarding his transfer, and the 24-year-old player has signed a 4-year contract.'

It added: 'The transfer fee of Mason Greenwood to Olympique Marseille, amounting to 39 million euros, will be paid in three equal installments over 3 years, and our club will also cover the solidarity fees stipulated in FIFA regulations.'

It concluded: 'We welcome Mason Greenwood's joining our family, and we wish him all the best and success with Fenerbahce.'

Greenwood, 24, joined French club Olympique Marseille from Manchester United in July 2024 on a 5-year contract, after ending his long association with the English Premier League club.

Greenwood scored 48 goals in 76 matches in all competitions for the French team, and finished last season in second place in the scorers' list with 16 goals, level with Argentine Joaquin Panichelli, and 5 goals behind leader Esteban Lepaul.

Fenerbahce hopes to add attacking strength to its ranks, seeking to win its first Turkish Super League title since 2014, and is preparing to compete in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, after finishing last season as runners-up in the Turkish league for the fifth consecutive season.
