The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced the final list of goals nominated for the Best Goal award in the 2026 World Cup, which includes 12 goals, three of which were scored against the national teams of Morocco, Algeria, and Qatar.

Arab goals among the list

The list featured the first goal of Argentine superstar Lionel Messi against Algeria, along with a goal from Haitian player Wilson Edior against Morocco, and a goal from Karim Alajbegović against the Qatar national team.

Presence of tournament stars

The list also included a goal from New Zealand player Elijah Just against Iran, a goal from Frenchman Kylian Mbappé against Senegal, a goal from Japanese player Daizen Maeda against Sweden, in addition to a goal from Uzbek player Eldor Shomurodov against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The nominations also included a goal from Cape Verde player Sydney Lopes Cabral against Argentina, a goal from Norwegian Erling Haaland against Brazil, a goal from Argentine Julián Álvarez against Switzerland, a goal from Englishman Jude Bellingham against France, along with a goal from Spanish Ferran Torres in the final match against Argentina.
