Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr captain, played the lead role in the club's first deal during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed, in a tweet via his personal account on X, that Al-Nassr entered negotiations with Real Mallorca for the signing of their Portuguese midfielder Samu Costa.

Saudi newspaper Okaz reported that Al-Nassr already agreed to sign the Portuguese midfielder for €9 million, to be paid in two installments, which is considered a low amount.

The Saudi newspaper attributed the credit for this deal to Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, confirming that Al-Nassr sealed it after 'The Don' entered the negotiation process himself.

The other Portuguese, Simão Coutinho, Al-Nassr's sporting director, was the one who initiated the deal at the start of this summer, after a trip to the Spanish capital Madrid, where he negotiated with the player, before moving to Real Mallorca after obtaining his approval.

The deal is expected to be officially announced in the coming hours, after all contractual details are finalized.

If the transfer is completed, Costa will be Al-Nassr's first deal during the summer transfer window, as they have not signed any player so far due to the financial crisis they are suffering from.

Samu Costa has a distinguished career, spending most of it in Spain, where he played for Almería between 2020 and 2023, before moving to Real Mallorca, where he currently plays.

At the international level, Costa began his journey with the Portuguese national team alongside Cristiano Ronaldo since October 2024, but he has only played 7 matches with him.

The 25-year-old was called up to participate with Portugal in the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, but he only played in one match as a substitute for 20 minutes, during a goalless draw with Colombia in the third round of the group stage.
