Al-Nassr Nears Deal for Portuguese Samu Costa
Italian transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Saudi club Al-Nassr is on the verge of completing the signing of Portuguese Samu Costa from Spanish side Real Mallorca, a surprise move that is considered one of the club's most notable transfers during the current summer window.
Romano wrote on his official account on platform X: 'Exclusive: Al-Nassr advances in a surprise deal to sign Samu Costa from Mallorca. Samu said yes to the move despite an official offer from RB Leipzig, and Al-Nassr is close to completing the deal, as he is the chosen option to replace Brozovic who left the club. Talks between the two clubs are ongoing.'
Through this signing, Al-Nassr's management aims to strengthen the midfield before the start of official competitions, compensating for the departure of Croatian Ivan Brozovic.
Samu Costa is a 25-year-old Portuguese player who began his professional career in 2019 with Braga B. He was then loaned in the 2020-2021 season to Spanish club Almería, which later signed him permanently, before moving to Real Mallorca in 2023. He has 4 international caps for the Portugal national team.
