The England national team received a huge morale boost with the recovery of its star Declan Rice before facing Argentina tomorrow, Wednesday, in the 2026 World Cup semi-final.

Sky Sports reported that Rice has recovered from the stomach illness he suffered from and is now ready to start against Argentina.

Declan Rice had suffered a stomach problem 10 days ago, following the round of 16 match against Mexico.

Coach Thomas Tuchel revealed at the time that Rice was forced to stay in bed for 3 days before facing Norway in the quarter-final.

During the training sessions before the Mexico match, Rice appeared ready, but the English FA doctors decided to allow him to play only 45 minutes against Norway, due to the heat and humidity in Miami, the effect of which was equivalent to playing at a temperature of 44 degrees Celsius.

The Arsenal midfielder looked exhausted as he passed by journalists after the win over Norway following extra time, although Tuchel explained in the post-match press conference that Rice wanted to continue playing after the end of the first half.

Tuchel said, "We knew Declan was struggling. We gave the green light to continue maybe until the next water break, but I thought if the match extended to 120 minutes and Elliot Anderson was not on the pitch, we would have a problem with substitutions later."

He added, "So we made a difficult decision to take Declan off at that time, and the decision proved correct, because Elliot was able to play the full 120 minutes, otherwise we would have faced a problem."

Information indicates that Rice has now fully recovered and participated normally in the closed training session held yesterday, Monday, in Kansas City, which was the first full training session after the win over Norway.

There are no longer any doubts about his ability to start against the World Cup holders.
