Ibrahim Hassan, the director of the Egypt national team, stole the spotlight during the public celebration held on Monday evening at Cairo Stadium, in honor of the historic journey made by the 'Pharaohs' in the 2026 World Cup, after they reached the round of 16 for the first time in their history of participations in the tournament.

The celebration was attended by the technical staff, national team players, and their families, amid a great festive atmosphere, after the Egyptian national team achieved unprecedented achievements in the World Cup, including achieving its first victory in World Cup history, as well as qualifying for the knockout stages for the first time, before their journey ended with an exciting 3-2 loss to Argentina. The most prominent scene during the ceremony was when a documentary film showcasing the team's best moments in the tournament was shown, as Ibrahim Hassan was visibly moved, unable to hold back his tears while watching the footage documenting the 'Pharaohs' journey in the World Cup, a scene that received widespread interaction from the attending fans.

The Egyptian national team players entered the field of Cairo Stadium on an open-top bus that toured the stadium, before greeting the fans who had gathered to celebrate the historic achievement, amid an atmosphere of pride and honor for what the team had accomplished in the tournament.

On the other hand, the celebration witnessed the absence of several top stars of the national team, most notably captain Mohamed Salah, along with Omar Marmoush, Haitham Hassan, Mohamed El Shenawy, Hamdy Fathy, and Hamza Abdel Karim.

The reasons for the players' absence varied, as some of them preferred to spend their holidays abroad or in Egyptian coastal cities after the end of the tournament, while young striker Hamza Abdel Karim traveled to Spain to join Barcelona's training, in preparation for the start of the new season.
