The Elections Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation's Board of Directors announced in its sixth cycle the adoption of the election timeline, opening candidacy from July 22 until August 1, according to the federation's website on Thursday. The federation stated that candidates' lists will be reviewed from August 2 to 7. The Saudi Sports Arbitration Center will receive appeals and objections to the lists from August 9 to 13, and will decide on them from August 15 to 23, with results announced on August 24. The timeline set August 25 as the final deadline for candidate withdrawals, before the election committee announces the final lists on August 26, with election campaigns starting the following day and continuing until August 29, while elections will be held during the extraordinary general assembly meeting on August 30, 2026. The Saudi Federation had announced on Sunday the formation of the election committee chaired by Ahmed Al-Qunai'an, as head of the Appeals Committee, and membership of Bandar Al-Humaidani, head of the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee, Dr. Ahmed Banajmah, member of the Appeals Committee, and Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Fadli, deputy head of the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee, while Issa Al-Reis serves as secretary of the committee, as representative of the legal department. The elections come following the resignation of Yasser Al-Mishal from the presidency of the Saudi Federation, which he announced via his account on the 'X' platform, after the Saudi national team's exit from the 2026 World Cup.
