Brazilian Kaka, former AC Milan and Real Madrid player, gave a frank analysis of the Brazilian national team and Brazilian football in general after an early exit from the 2026 World Cup.

The Brazilian team left the 2026 World Cup in the round of 16 after losing to Norway (2-1), noting that the Seleção last won the title in 2002.

Kaka, winner of the Ballon d'Or in 2007, believes recent international competitions send a worrying signal and require a comprehensive reassessment.

The Brazilian star explained, according to ESPN: 'These moments in the World Cup show that we are falling behind. So, restructuring our way of working begins with the Brazilian Football Confederation taking charge, involving clubs and saying: "We will think about a long-term project, what we will do, how we will manage this process, how we will involve youth categories, and how we will develop all these athletes."'

Kaka believes that Brazil must regain its identity while drawing lessons from countries that have succeeded in building established models, especially Morocco, France, and Spain.

He continued: 'I don't know much about Morocco's project, for example, but what I have heard here is that it seems like a good project ongoing for many years. Initially, they were world champions at the U-20 level, and the U-20 team supplies the senior team with players, then the U-20 team coach took over the senior team.'

He added: 'They lost to the French team, which was among the favorites to win, but they gave a great performance in the World Cup. And in the previous World Cup, they reached the semi-finals. These are good examples for us to follow.'

He noted: 'France and Spain as well. If I'm not mistaken, among the Spanish players who played in the Olympic final against Brazil, 20 are now in the national team.'

Kaka, who hopes for the emergence of a new generation capable of sustaining the Brazilian team, stressed: 'We need to carry out a comprehensive analysis and think about a long-term project.'
