Press reports have revealed the financial details of the departure of Colombian striker Jhon Duran from Al-Nassr during the summer transfer window.

Press reports had confirmed that Al-Nassr agreed to Duran's transfer to Benfica during the summer transfer window, on a one-season loan with an option to buy at the end.

According to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya, Al-Nassr will bear about $2 million of Duran's annual salary during his loan to Benfica, while the Portuguese club will cover the remaining $10 million of his dues.

After the loan ends, Portuguese coach Marco Silva's team will be able to secure the Colombian striker's services permanently for €30 million, in addition to Al-Nassr receiving a percentage of any future transfer of the player.

That amount represents less than half of what Al-Nassr paid to sign Duran during the winter transfer window of 2025, when he joined from Aston Villa for €77 million.

The Colombian striker thus became the second most expensive player in Saudi League history, after Brazilian Neymar da Silva, whom Al-Hilal signed from Paris Saint-Germain in summer 2023 for €90 million.

The 22-year-old only played 18 matches in half a season with Al-Nassr, scoring 12 goals, before moving on loan to Fenerbahçe, and then to Russian side Zenit, without showing his best form since then.
