Manchester United are preparing to officially announce the signing of Belgian star Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa.

The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their squad with top deals ahead of the new season, in which they will compete in the Champions League.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said on his X account: 'Youri Tielemans to Manchester United... Here we go.'

Romano added: 'Manchester United activated the release clause in Youri Tielemans' contract with Aston Villa, worth €41 million, and also reached a verbal agreement with the Belgian midfielder.'

He noted: 'After finalizing the Andrey Santos deal, Manchester United are ready to complete the signing of Tielemans, following the collapse of the Éderson deal last Friday.'

Tielemans is 29 years old and is under contract with Aston Villa until the summer of 2028. He joined the Villans in the summer of 2023 from Leicester City.
