Mohamed Salah is close to joining Turkish club Besiktas.

Journalist Santi Auna confirmed that Egyptian star Mohamed Salah is on the verge of joining Turkish club Besiktas, noting that the 34-year-old striker has reached an agreement with the Istanbul club, and is expected to sign as a free agent soon.

Auna added: 'Salah is expected to receive an annual salary of around 10 million euros, plus 2 million euros in bonuses, and is expected to sign a one-year contract with an option for a second year.'

He continued: 'Besiktas finished fourth in the Turkish Süper Lig last season and will participate in the Europa League next season. Salah is expected to meet some familiar faces, such as Leandro Trossard, his former rival in the English Premier League, whose transfer was officially announced last week.'

He concluded: 'Since the beginning of the summer, Salah has been linked with the American club Kansas City, but it is almost certain that in Turkey he will give his career a new boost.'

Media outlets reported that the player has a great desire to experience something new in Turkey, stressing that his family prefers to live there.

The same sources mentioned that the coming hours may see a direct meeting between Besiktas management and the player's agent to narrow differences and finalize the position on the potential deal.

Besiktas fans are closely following the negotiation developments, especially since signing a player of Mohamed Salah's caliber would represent one of the club's biggest deals in its history if negotiations succeed and a final agreement is reached.
