Russian Andrey Rublev, ranked 16th in the world, won the Nordea Swedish Open tennis title by defeating Italian Luciano Darderi, last year's champion, 6-4, 6-3 on Sunday in the final. The Russian, top seed in this tournament, previously won the title in 2023, and raised his overall tally to 18 by returning to the winner's circle for the first time since the Doha tournament in February 2025. He also claimed his first hard-court title since the Madrid Masters 1000 in April 2024, after breaking his Italian opponent, ranked 18th in the world, in the final service game of the first set, then the first service game of the second set, denying him a second title in 2026 and a sixth in the career of the 24-year-old — all on hard courts.
