Al-Ahli club management has put Portuguese Pedro Gonçalves, a player from Sporting Lisbon's first football team, among the options for reinforcing the Jeddawi club this summer, according to local newspaper 'O Jogo' on Sunday. The newspaper reported that Al-Ahli has not yet submitted an official offer to Gonçalves, as it is busy completing the contractual process with his teammate Francisco Trincão for 45 million euros including incentives and an annual salary of up to 11 million euros on a four-year contract. Gonçalves and Trincão have shared the Sporting Lisbon dressing room for five consecutive seasons from 2020-2021 until last season, and have succeeded in winning the Portuguese league twice and the Portuguese Cup once.
