German Matthias Jaissle, head coach of Al-Ahli's first football team, granted the players a 24-hour break after the end of the first friendly match against Austrian side Pinzgau Saalfelden on Saturday, which the Saudi side won 8-0, as part of their preparation program before the start of the new season, according to a source for Al-Riyadiya. The same source stated that some players preferred to spend the rest period by going to the markets in the Austrian town of Saalfelden, which hosts the camp until July 16, while others preferred to stroll in the city center and stay at the hotel. Players are expected to return to daily training on Monday, preparing for the match against German side Holstein Kiel on Wednesday, the second friendly match before completing preparations in the second phase on Thursday in Portugal until the 28th of this month. In Portugal, Al-Ahli will play against Portuguese side Rio Ave on July 19, and face Vitória Guimarães on the 24th of the same month, before playing two matches on July 28 against Portuguese side Portimonense at 01:00 PM and English side Fulham at 08:00 PM, and then returning to Jeddah to play a final match against Abha on August 6.
