Official: Manchester United sign Chelsea player
Manchester United have officially announced the signing of a Chelsea player during the current summer transfer window to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
Manchester United said in an official statement that they have signed Brazilian Andrey Santos, a Chelsea player, but did not disclose the details of the contract.
The club posted a video on its social media accounts to introduce the player, with the caption: 'Dreams really do come true... Andrey Santos is proof of that.'
The Brazilian international signed a contract until June 2031, with an option to extend for an additional year.
The 22-year-old, who has represented Brazil up to the U23 level, won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025.
Last season, he made 43 appearances for Chelsea and recorded the highest pass completion rate and the most progressive passes per 90 minutes among Premier League midfielders under the age of 22.
Santos spent the previous season on loan at Strasbourg, where he captained the team on several occasions, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists.
Andrey Santos said: 'Everything about Manchester United is special; it's an incredible feeling to join a club like this.'
He added: 'As a midfielder, I'm really excited to have the opportunity to learn from Michael Carrick. He is the perfect coach to help me take the next step in my career and pursue my dreams.'
He continued: 'Everyone has told me how ambitious the club is and the amazing environment that has been created here. I know how strong the team is, and I can't wait to fight together to compete for the biggest titles.'
