Brazilian Marcos Leonardo, striker of Al-Hilal first football team, officially moved to Ajax Amsterdam of the Netherlands, as revealed by both clubs on Friday. Al-Hilal announced via its official account on platform "X" its approval to sell the player's contract to Ajax. In turn, the Dutch club clarified that it officially contracted Leonardo for five seasons, ending June 30, 2031, for 20 million euros. Ajax's signing of Leonardo confirms what "Arriyadiyah" indicated on July 12, as it headlined: "Al-Hilal and Leonardo.. Two installments for 20 million," and revealed in details, citing private sources, that Al-Hilal management agreed to sell the contract of Brazilian Marcos Leonardo, striker of the first football team, to Dutch Ajax for about 20 million euros, adding that the capital's blue management and its Dutch counterpart reached an agreement stipulating payment of the deal in two installments. The player's career (23 years old) started from the youth categories at Brazilian Santos, then moved to Portuguese Benfica in January 2024 for a deal worth 25 million euros. In summer 2024, Leonardo joined Al-Hilal under a five-year contract, and was registered in the locally-born category. Since moving to Al-Hilal, the Brazilian played 82 matches, scoring 48 goals and providing five assists.
