He added: 'Evaluation of the referees' level is up to the competent authorities, and the tournament did not witness refereeing errors that directly affected the results of the matches, which reflects the high level shown by the refereeing during the World Cup.' Omar confirmed that the secret of success lies in complete focus on the field, saying: 'Whenever I am assigned to officiate a match, my focus is solely on the events of the match, and I do not occupy myself with any matters outside the match, because the referee needs the highest levels of concentration to make the right decisions.' The Egyptian international pointed to the success of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, confirming that it has become an important element in modern football and has significantly contributed to reducing refereeing errors and providing referees with the necessary support to make correct decisions in impactful situations. Omar continued: 'Arab refereeing imposed its presence strongly in the 2026 World Cup, and all my colleagues presented distinguished levels that earned everyone's praise. Arabs officiated strong matches with high efficiency, and the reward for this outstanding performance was being part of the final match crew as the fourth official, which reflects the great confidence that the Arab referee enjoys on the international stage.' The Egyptian international stressed that refereeing in his country has always had a great status, and the participation of a full Egyptian refereeing crew in the World Cup is clear evidence of its success and the confidence of the International Federation in its competence, expressing his hope that this participation will be the beginning of continued Egyptian presence in all international forums, culminating in officiating the World Cup final in the future.
