Juan Capdevila, former Spain national football team player and 2010 World Cup winner, asked US President Donald Trump for help after saying he was barred from entering the United States to attend the World Cup final between his country and Argentina.

Capdevila wrote in a post on platform "X" before the final match on Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey: I need help, Donald Trump.

He added: I was just told that I cannot travel to the final with my children because my electronic travel authorization request was denied.

He continued: Can anyone help me with this? You cannot imagine how excited I am to be there with all my teammates from the 2010 squad, and with this team, to cheer them on.

He concluded: I cannot believe they are not allowing me to enter the United States, and that I will miss a moment like this with my children who love football so much.

Capdevila tagged the Spanish Ministry of Sports in his post, then later addressed a message to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, saying: If anyone knows a way to resolve this issue, I would be grateful for life.

The Electronic Travel Authorization system is a necessary requirement for citizens of certain countries to enter the United States without a visa.

Defender Capdevila was one of only three players in the Spain squad to play every minute of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and contributed to his country winning the world title for the first time in history.
