Real Madrid has made its final decision regarding the signing of Spanish international Rodri, Manchester City midfielder, according to press reports.

French newspaper L'Equipe reported that the Merengue management has finalized its decision to move forward in the attempt to sign Rodri, after a shift in position by club president Florentino Pérez, who was not initially convinced by the deal.

The newspaper added that the royal club now sees the need to sign a player capable of performing the role that the retired German star Toni Kroos occupied two years ago, and has settled on Rodri as the most suitable option for that.

But Real Madrid does not want to pay more than 60 million euros, while Manchester City insists on obtaining 100 million euros to agree to sell the player.

For its part, Sky Sports network reported that the likelihood of Rodri's transfer to the Merengue this summer is increasing, after a secret meeting was held in a Madrid restaurant, bringing together club officials and the player's agents, ending with the board's decision to continue working on completing the deal.

The network added that Real Madrid is preparing to offer a contract extending until 2030, and is currently working on reaching an agreement with Rodri regarding personal terms.
