The future of Spain national team captain Rodri remains open to all possibilities, amid ongoing ambiguity regarding his next destination as his contract with Manchester City nears its end, and speculation grows about the next step in his career.

Rodri contributed to La Roja's coronation in the 2026 World Cup on Sunday, after defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final.

According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Real Madrid has radically changed its stance towards the Spanish midfielder after winning the World Cup, in addition to winning the Ballon d'Or as the tournament's best player.

He confirmed that some members of the Los Blancos board are trying to reach an agreement with the 30-year-old player, who is reportedly open to moving to the Santiago Bernabeu over renewing his lucrative contract with Manchester City.

However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez's stance will be decisive, as he had previously rejected the idea of signing Rodri, taking into consideration factors such as his age, status, and transfer fee.

Previous reports had indicated that Rodri has not yet decided his future with Manchester City, with only one year remaining on his contract, which increases speculation about a potential move to Real Madrid this summer.
